It has been a ridiculous amount of time since I have done a full blog post on a wedding! I have been so crazy busy shooting and editing that the blog has really been put on the back burner, but I am determined to get caught up this week. I want to share all the special moments I have been capturing during this crazy busy time.
I want to start with Jamie & Scott’s wedding day. I love every single wedding I shoot, all of the details, the quiet and excited moments, and just how the whole day comes together. But every once in a while there is a wedding that just sticks in my mind and this was one of them. Jamie is one of those people who’s smile is infectous. Her laugh is filled with joy, and her expression is always so genuine. She compliments Scott’s personality so well, and they are just one of those couples you know will be together forever.
The wedding ceremony was held in Saint Mark United Methodist Church, which is the same church Jamie’s mother and father were married in many years ago. Jamie wore her mom’s cathedral length veil, which was breathtaking and so fun to play with during her portraits. Jamie and Scott were blessed in the fact that Jamie’s parents are part owners of Bud & Blossoms. They are a floral company specializing in weddings (and they do a FANTASTIC job). Upon my arrival, I watched Jamie’s sweet father arrange beautifully thought out pew markers and secure them to every single pew. The whole day was just filled with Jamie and Scott’s family loving on them, and there is nothing better than that.
The reception took place at Iron City in downtown Birmingham, and this was by far the most fun reception I have ever gotten to shoot. From Jamie and her dad’s choreographed dance to the wedding party taking over the stage and singing “We are Family”, this reception was just one for the books. Z And The Party Faktory kept all of the guests dancing late into the night. I don’t think there was a guest in attendance who did not get out and boogie with the bride and groom at least once.
To the whole Goodloe family, and the new Mr. & Mrs. Swiderski, thank you for inviting me to be a part of such a special day. It was an HONOR.
A special thanks to all the awesome vendors.

Abbey and Neil’s wedding was absolutely gorgeous! I first met Abbey years ago when I photographed her mother’s wedding in Birmingham and I had just opened my business. I hoped that day that I would get the opportunity to capture their family more as my business grew. We just clicked from the minute I met them. Needless to say, when Abbey called and asked if I would travel all the way from Augusta, Georgia to Mobile, Alabama to capture her special day I was delighted!
Abbey LOVES Christmas, so what better day to get married on than December 20! Their wedding was planned down to the smallest detail and their reception was breathtaking and complete with a private firework show over the bay! Melissa Wilt of Melissa Wilt Events did a fantastic job! The friends and family that surrounded them, and particularly their wedding party made their day so memorable. These are just some of the special moments from their perfectly beautiful wedding day.
My BEST FRIEND is getting MARRIED!!
While it will be incredibly hard not to pick up my camera on their wedding day, I am so honored to stand beside you! These two mean so much to me, so of course I was thrilled when they asked if I would take some engagement shots for them! Love you both and can’t wait for your special day!
